Since Spencer's passing in December 2006 over $80,000 has been contributed to the U of M Comprehensive Cancer Program in his name. Much of the money donated came as a result of last September's concert and fund raiser at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.

Now, we're very close to a very special goal.

If we can manage to push the total up to $100,000 or more, the U of M will create a permanent endowment in Spencer's name (permanent - as in forever!). The money generated from that $100,000 will annually create enough in interest for the U of M to pay for summer internships at the Adrenal Cancer research program - in the name of Spencer Bell.

Of course, last year's concert was a one of a kind night. With all of the volunteers, donations to the live and silent auction and independent donations in Spencer's memory, there was an amazing outpouring of generosity.

This year we're not quite as ambitious, though we are aiming to put on a fantastic evening of music at the Magic Bag in Ferndale. No silent or live auction, however. Just music and a good time. We hope you'll come.

If you can't make it to the August 10th concert, we hope you'll buy a copy of Spencer's first album; FEUDAL, BRUTAL & THE AMERICAN DREAM or simply make a modest donation towards the goal.

As always, all profits from ticket sales and cd purchases will go to the Spencer Bell Memorial Fund at the U of M.
